MAIMANA (Pajhwok): A six-year-old child has been found dead a week after he went missing in the Khwaja Sabzposh district of northern Faryab province, an official said on Monday.
Police spokesman Hamidullah Butshikan in a statement said that the child had been strangled to death and his body was found in Darya-i-Ghazari area of the district on Sunday evening.
He said: “The motive behind the murder is not clear, but one suspect has been arrested.”
Amanullah, father of the slain child, told Pajhwok that his son had gone missing last week. but was found dead on Sunday evening.
While breaking into tears, Amanullah said he had no enmity with anyone and he worked as a daily wager to support his family.
He urged the government to identify the killers of his son and give them severe punishment.
