TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): An eight-year-old girl was killed and her two family members injured after the roof of their house collapsed due to heavy rain in this capital city of central Uruzgan province on Friday.
Police chief of the first security district of Tirinkot city Maulvi Defai told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place at 6am in the morning at the house of Haji Dad Mohammad in the Muhbas Qala area of the city.
He said an eight-year-old girl died and a woman and another girl were injured in the roof collapse incident.
He said the roof of the house caved in due to continuous rain. The injured have been taken to the provincial hospital, he said.
An official at the provincial hospital confirmed to Pajhwok Afghan News receiving the two injured.
Speaking on the condition of anonymity, the official said the woman was in critical condition.
The incident came a fortnight after five people were killed when the roof of one of their house rooms collapsed in Khost district of northern Baghlan province.
