Accommodation, food contracts signed for Afghan pilgrims

KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan hajj pilgrims will be provided food and accommodation at a low cost in Madinah during the performance of this year’s hajj pilgrimage, the Ministry of Hajj and Auqaf said on Thursday.

The ministry said it had signed accommodation and food contracts to provide necessary facilities and services to Afghan pilgrims in Madinah.

A press statement the Ministry of Hajj and Auqaf published on its twitter page said the contracts were the first of their kind to provide necessary facilities and services to the Afghan pilgrims in Madinah.

The ministry said a residential building equipped with modern facilities has been booked for Afghan pilgrims near the Masjid-i-Nabwi.

Under the food contract, Afghan pilgrims will be served meals three times a day at their places at a low cost and they would not need to go to faraway places for food.

The ministry said the contracts were made at a lower price compared to other Islamic countries in the region and the world due to hectic efforts of the delegation sent from Kabul.

The contracts were signed by Maulvi Abdul Wali Haqqani, the head of the delegation sent by the ministry.

Accommodation, food and transportation contracts for the Afghan pilgrims in Makkah are about to be finalized and will be signed in the next few days.
