Another 56 Afghans released from Pakistani prisons

KABUL (Pajhwok): Pakistani authorities have released another 56 Afghans, including 24 children, from jails in Karachi city of Sindh province.

The Afghan Consulate in Karachi said the released individuals were sent to Afghanistan in two buses.

The consulate on its twitter page said the 56 Afghans were released as a result of efforts of the Afghan Consul General in Karachi.

They were released from jails of Karachi Malir and Central Jail.

The consulate said as per instructions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, the released individuals were sent to Afghanistan in two buses in the presence of Maulvi Syed Abdul Jabbar Takhari, acting head of the Consulate General of Afghanistan in Karachi.

Earlier, dozens of Afghans have been released from prisons in Sindh province and repatriated to their home country.
