KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Energy and Water (MoEW) has warned against flash floods, surge in the level of rivers waters in 8 provinces and rainfall in the next 36 hours.
On its Twitter handle the ministry said wrote that there was possibility of flash floods in some provinces that falls in the River Zones.
The Ministry’s prediction is based on the hydro-metrological stations analysis on rainfall, snow, climate negative impact, foreign metrological institutions and the local metrological institution.
Sudden rainfall and flooding were likely in Kabul and Helmand Rivers, MoEW said.
According to the information of the source, increasing water level was expected in the rivers and riverine areas of Paktia, Paktika, Khost, Kunar, Laghman, Ghazni, Zabul and Uruzgan provinces.
MoEW advised people against visiting the areas where floods were expected.
