35 killed, wounded in Pakistan clash, bomb attack

ATLANTA (Pajhwok): At least 35 people have been killed and wounded in two separate incidents of violence in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, a media report said on Tuesday.

A dozen security personnel were injured in a suicide bombing in North Waziristan tribal district, lying cheek by jowl with Afghanistan.

Deewa Radio quoted a local official as saying that eight soldiers and four civilian were injured in the bomb attack. The Pakistan Army is yet to comment on the incident.

Separately, 17 people were killed in a clash between two tribes over a coalmine in the Darra Adam Khel area of northwestern Kohat district.

Pakistani media reported the clash occurred between Sunnykhel and Zarghunkhel tribes, with both sides suffering casualties

Some social media users wrote more than 13 people were also injured in the fierce firefight in the area — once a bustling arms bazaar.

Security forces rushed to site and halted the fire exchange between the rival tribes.

The Sunnykhel tribe, which lost 11 members, killed three rivals in the clash. All 12 injured belonged to the Sunnykhel tribe, according to Dawn.

The army was called in to stop the rampage and force the combatants down the mountains, the newspaper added.
