BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok): The construction and repairing work on 24 health centres have been launched at a cost of 36 million afghanis in central Bamyan province, an official said on Tuesday.

Dr. Jafar Zaki, director of Public Health Department, told Pajhwok Afghan News: “These health centres are established with the financial support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) at a cost of 36.5 million afghanis.”

He said 12 health centers were being repaired and 12 new facilities were being built based on standard quality in Shibar, Yakwlang, Panjab, Wors, Yakwlang 2 districts and the provincial capital.

Equipped and standard health facilities could help provide better services to the people, Zaki remarked.

On the other hand, Dr. Mehdi Elham, an official of one of the health centers, said most of these facilities contain six rooms and would be equipped properly.
