In Mazar-i-Sharif, 8 bakeries closed for violating pricelists

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Eight bakeries have been closed in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of northern Balkh province, for violating the municipality’s pricelists, an official said on Friday.

Azizullah Azizi, markets organization official at Mazar-i-Sharif Municipality, said the bakery shops were closed on Thursday during control and evaluation of bakeries of Mazar-i-Sharif city for flouting the price standard.

Azizi said as flour price had decreased and bakeries should increase the weight of bread.

He said the process of evaluation of all trades was ongoing to provide regular and effective services to the people.

Mazar-i-Sharif residents thanked the municipality for its efforts to control prices, saying the weight of bread should be increased after the decline in flour prices.

Aimal, a resident of Mazar-i-Sharif, said the price of flour had decreased, but no change was brought to the price and weight of bread.

He said he was happy that the municipality was taking legal action against violators of its pricelists.
