Trader builds amusement park, mosque in Samangan

AIBAK (Pajhwok): A businessman, who built an amusement park and a mosque spending $700,000, intends to implement similar projects in the future.

Haji Mauluddin, a national businessman who lives in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), told Pajhwok Afghan News he built a park and mosque at the request of local people and has decided to implement more such projects.

He said he spent $700,000 on the construction of the park and mosque and added: “Simultaneously with inauguration of the park and mosque, we also laid the foundation stone of a water dam so in the future its water can be used to irrigate lands”.

Mohammad Asif Azimi, a local tribal influential figure, said the mosque and the amusement park took three and a half years to complete on 1,720 acres of land and more than 50,000 saplings of ornamental trees have been also planted in it.

He said: “A generous man paid the costs. He is constructing a check dam which will provide water and prevent monsoon flash floods in this area in the future”.

Azimi urged other businessmen and well-off figures to build similar projects in the country.

Abdul Bashir Karimi, a university lecturer in Samangan, told Pajhwok “naturally every human needs fresh air, parks, greenery and beautiful flowers nurture human psyche and lead humans towards health and thinking.”

He added: “Every tree produces oxygen for about 18 humans, these trees not only add to the beauty of the environment, but play a vital role on health”.

He asked all national businessmen and charitable people to follow in the footsteps of such people to build parks and recreational areas to serve their countrymen.
