KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Supreme Court has announced the release of 2,178 prisoners on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha from various jails across the country.
The Supreme Court published a statement on its Facebook page, saying according to the decree of the supreme leader, Maulvi Haibatullah Akhundzada, and the order of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, 2,178 prisoners who were entitled to pardon were released and the imprisonment term of another 489 eligible prisoners reduced.
