ASADABAD (Pajhwok): At least two people have been killed and three others injured as a result of flash floods triggered by heavy rainfall in eastern Kunar and Nuristan provinces.
Ehsanullah Ehsan, an official of the natural disaster management authority, told Pajhwok Afghan News rain-induced flash floods hit some areas of Kunar and Nuristan which caused financial losses.
He said: “The floods swept away a passenger vehicle in Waigal district which two people were killed and three others wounded.”
In Kungar, the initial information suggests that flash floods inflicted huge losses on people in the Asadabad City, the provincial capital.
He said: “The floods have damaged houses, dozens of acres of farmland, dams, roads in Asadabad, Marora and Shygal district.”
