Flour price up, other items steady in Kabul

KABUL (Pajhwok): The price of Kazakhstani flour increased, but the rates of other commodities remained unchanged during the outgoing week in Kabul, market sources said on Saturday.

Zmarai Safi, head of the Food Traders Association, said the rate of 49 kilograms of Kazakh flour jumped from 1,550afs to 1,600afs.

He added the price of 24.5-kilogram sack of Pakistani rice accounted for 3,000afs, a 16-liter tin of Malaysian cooking oil 1,700afs, 49-kilogram of Indian sugar 3,550afs, a kilogram of African black tea 400afs and the same amount of Indonesian green tea accounted for 350afs.

Hamid Sufizada, a retailer on the Dahna-i-Bagh Market, said the retail price of a 49-kilogram bag of Kazakh flour was 1,650afs, a 24-kg bag of Pakistani rice 3,050afs and a 49-kg sack of Indian sugar 3,600afs.

Similarly, a 16-litre bottle of cooking oil accounted for 1,750afs, one kilogram of black tea for 450afs and the same quantity of green tea for 400afs.

Fuel price unchanged

A worker at Ahmadyar Group of Pump Stations said the price of one litre petrol cost 64afs and one litre of diesel 63afs as last week.

Mohammad Sharif, a liquefied gas seller in Kalola Pushta locality, sold one kilogram of the commodity for 56afs.

Gold prices

Mohammad Fawad, a jeweller in Timor Shahi area, said the price of one gram of Arabian gold accounted for 4,400afs and the Russian variety for 3,450afs.

Afghani exchange rate

Haji Hussain, owner of the Sadaqat Money Exchange Service, said one US dollar traded at 86.30afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees at 300.

Last week, one US dollar accounted for 86afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees for 280.
