Refugee problems discussed with Turkish ambassador

KABUL (Pajhwok): The deputy minister of refugees affairs has discussed issues facing Afghan migrants with the Turkish ambassador.

The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation (MoRR) said Deputy Minister Mohammad Arsala Kharoti, met Ambassador Cihad Erginay in Kabul.

A statement from the ministry said the two sides discussed issues of Afghan refugees in Turkey, alternatives to illegal migration and other problems.

Kharoti stressed solutions to the problems of refugees and the need for further strengthening ties between the two brotherly countries.

“Deporting or taking back Afghans is not a permanent solution to this problem. As Afghans are deported, some others enter Turkey illegally.”

Kharoti, added if Turkey wanted to resolve the problem of illegal Afghan travel, it should discuss all related matters.

The ministry said the ambassador promised to arrange a trip to Turkey for a delegation of officials from relevant institutions of the Islamic Emirate in near future.
