Political Commission discusses IEA team’s visit to Doha

KABUL (Pajhwok): The IEA Political Commission has discussed a recent visit by a high-level government delegation to Doha and the outcome of negotiations with foreign representatives.

Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs Maulvi Abdul Kabir chaired the meeting, which was attended by members of the commission.

Kabir’s office said the participants focused on recent political developments in the country and the result of talks between the IEA team with representatives of different countries in Doha.

At the meeting, IEA leaders took decisions on some crucial national issues, a statement from the deputy premier’s office said. It gave no further details.

Headed by Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi, the delegation held a flurry of meetings with ambassadors and special representatives of several countries in the Qatari capital.

The visiting team met representatives of the US, the UK, Spain, South Korea, Holland, Italy, Australia and Canada, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).

Muttaqi discussed the latest political, economic and security, situation, as well as the caretaker government’s policies on good governance and counter-narcotics.

He also shared details of the counter-narcotics struggle, launch of hundreds of projects and other IEA achievements with his interlocutors.
