FM Muttaqi, outgoing Chinese Envoy Yu discuss bilateral ties

KABUL (Pajhwok): Chinese Ambassador to Afghanistan Wang Yu during his farewell meeting with acting Foreign Minister Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi has discussed over all Kabul, Beijing relationship of the past two years, an official said on Friday.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Abdul Qahar Balkh on his Twitter handle wrote: “The Ambassador of the PRC, Mr. Wang Yu, paid a farewell call on IEA Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi. The meeting focused on Afg-China relations over the last two years, China’s investment in Afghanistan, & expansion of relations b/w the two countries in the future.”

He added: “FM Muttaqi appreciated diplomatic tenure of the Chinese Ambassador in Kabul, particularly for keeping the mission active during political developments. He also called China’s foreign policy towards Afghanistan during this period positive & expressed hope for further enhancement.”

“The Chinese Ambassador thanked IEA Foreign Minister for providing all facilities during his mission. He also highlighted the expansion of Afg-China bilateral relations over the last two years, adding that China remains committed to maintaining high-level diplomatic relations,” he said.
