2 killed, 12 injured in Samangan, Bamyan accidents

AIBAK/BAMYAN (Pajhwok): At least two people have been killed and 12 others wounded as a result of separate traffic accidents in northern Samangan and central Bamyan provinces, officials said on Tuesday.

Syed Usman Hamidi, of Samangan hospital director, told Pajhwok Afghan News a Corolla-type vehicle overturned on the Khurram Sarbagh-Aibak road late on Monday night.

Two women were killed and six others, including two children, wounded in the overnight incident, he said.

Ha added the injured were under medical treatment at the Bamyan Regional Hospital. Four of them are said to be in critical condition.

The cause of the accident is yet to be known, but most of such accidents are blamed on drivers’ recklessness and bad condition of roads.

Separately, Bamyan police spokesman Mohammad Khwani Rasa said six people, including four women,  were injured after a truck overturned in the Yakawlang district of the province.

He said the accident took place in Feroz Bahar village. The injured were evacuated to hospital by security forces.
