Kabul (Pajhwok): The Afghan national karate team has won a tri-nation ‘Peace and Friendship Karate Championship’ by grabbing three gold and two bronze medals in Iran.
According to Iranian media, the Iranian athletes finished runners-up in the competitions with two gold, three silver and three bronzes medals and Pakistan won third place with the silvers and three bronzes.
For Afghanistan, Syed Abul Fazal Hussaini won gold medals in minus 60kg category, Najibullah Jafari minus 75kg and Mohammad Ehsan Amin Fazali in plus 75 kg.
Also, Sudis Ahmadi won bronze medal in 55kg category and Khairullah Wadi won bronze medal in minus 70kg.
The competitions between martial arts athletes from Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan commenced on August 23 in Zahedan city of Iran.
