KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Interior on Sunday announced starting registration of private vehicles used as taxis and warned of legal action against those using private vehicles as taxis after the process is completed.
In a statement, the ministry said: “All citizens who use their personal vehicles on city routes as taxis are requested to register their vehicles and obtain a taxi order”.
With effect from Sunday, taxi car owners can visit traffic departments of their respective provinces to register their vehicles.
The statement said vehicles older than 95 model are considered local taxis and 95 model or newer are considered urban taxis and 2000 model and newer are considered green zone cab.
The Ministry of Interior said after completion of the registration process, legal action would be taken against individuals using private cars as taxis.
It asked citizens using private vehicles as taxis to go to relevant traffic offices as soon as possible and register their vehicles.
