Freed from Karachi jail, 172 more Afghans return homeland

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Refugee and Repatriation (MoRR) on Saturday said about 172 undocumented Afghan nationals have been released from Pakistan’s Karachi prison and they have returned to their homeland.

MoRR wrote on its X account that these Afghans returned to the country through Spin Boldak crossing in southern Kandahar province.

Two days ago, Pakistan released 120 Afghan migrants.

On August 9, MoRR officials to an accountability program that about 3,000 Afghan nationals were released from Pakistan prisons in the past solar year.

However, it is unclear how many more Afghan nationals remain imprisoned in that country’s jails.
