JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has constructed a girls’ school building at a cost of $145,000 in Behsud district of eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Thursday.
Farhad Ahmad Stanikzai, a spokesman for the education department, told Pajhwok Afghan News a new school building was built for Malika Humaira girls’ High School with the financial support of IOM.
He said this building containing eight classrooms and four administrative offices.
There are more than 9,000 schools in Nangarhar, with half of them without building and the students attend classes under the open sky.
According to the officials, the efforts are underway to construct building for more such schools.
