7 robbers flogged in public in Helmand

LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Seven individuals were publicly flogged in the capital of southern Helmand province after being convicted of robbery.

Maulvi Mohammad Qasim Riaz, deputy director of information and culture, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the seven individuals had been detained on robbery charges and convicted. They received 25-30 lashes each.

According to him, the verdict was upheld by the Supreme Court and the convicts were wiped in public so others learn a lesson.
