Pakistan should not force Afghans to retaliate: Stanikzai

KABUL (Pajhwok): Pakistan had unilaterally taken decision to expel Afghan refugees without taking the consent of UNHCR and sharing the matter with the Islamic ‘Emirate of Afghanistan’ (IEA) and official said on Monday.

Deputy Foreign Minister Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai said Afghan refugees’ repatriation from Pakistan was against the norms of neighbourhood and in violation with the international law.

Every refugee he said according to the international law has the right to stay in a place until he want to and nobody could expel him by force, he said.

Addressing an Economic Development Meeting here, Stanikzai said that Pakistan should change its behavior regarding Afghan refugees and not forced Afghans to retaliate.

He said from the past 40 years Pakistan economically benefited from refugees and took fund from the foreign countries on the name of refugees.

Stanikzai said the IEA of Afghanistan was committed to manage and control its water but had no plan to inflict losses on the neighboring countries.
