‘Pakistan’s decision to expel Afghans against all laws, norms’

KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): The administrative chief of Spinboldak district in southern Kandahar province termed Pakistan’s decision to expel Afghan refugees in violation with international law.

Mullah Abdullah Bashir along with some businessmen and officials on Monday visited Spinboldak crossing and witnessed the repatriation of Afghan refugees closely.

He said Pakistan cannot put pressure on Afghanistan by expelling Afghan refugees forcefully and people in Afghanistan warmly welcomed their people at home.

He said: “Pakistan expelled Afghans with force and tyranny, we saw here that children are separated from parents, brother from brother, this tyranny and use of force by the neighbouring country was against international law and has no place in Islam and human rights.”

He said Pakistan wanted to put pressure on Afghanistan by expelling refugees.

Mohammad Shafiq Achakzai, head of the district Chmaber of Commerce, said: “We are ready to serve our people here and they will never become burden on us, we provide them food and other essential item and this make us very happy.”

Ahmad Shah, another businessman, said they did not felt exhausted to serve their repatriated brothers, businessmen are waiting for their turn to serve these people.

Rozi Mohammad, one of the repatriated refugees, said: “I am really happy here, we saw persecution and tyranny there, women and children are put in jails, I spent six days in jail, now I want to live here and government should cooperate.”
