ZARANJ (Pajhwok): At least 25 individuals were flogged after being convicted for various crimes in northwestern Nimroz province on Friday, an official said.
Mufti Habibullah Elham, director of information and culture, told Pajhwok Afghan News: “Today after Friday prayer, 25 criminals were whipped in line with the order of primary court.”
He quoted Maulvi Sakhi Ahmad Jalali, a spokesman of the courts department, as saying that today 25 people were punished in the sports stadium of Zaranj City, who were arrested for various crimes such as theft and illicit relations.
Jalali said the convicts were lashed one to 30 times in public.
