JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Bost have defeated Amu by 129 runs to clinch the title of 6th edition of the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional List-A Tournament.
The event, which started on October 29 in Nangarhar province, featured five regional teams competing in a double round-robin format.
Bost skipper Y amin Ahmadzai won the toss and decided to bat first in the final. Darwish Rasooli (122), Bilal Ahmad(88) and Shamsur Rahman (31*) guided their side to a mammoth total of 336 for the loss of six wickets.
Mohammad Saleem (2/56) was the pick of the bowlers for Amu.
Followed their excellent batting effort with an even better bowling performance to bundle out Amu for 207 runs to win the final by 129 runs and clinch their second title of the Regional List-A Tournament.
Despite Ijaz Ahmad’s 48 and Ijaz Ahmadzai’s 40, Amu struggled to gain momentum against impressive bowling by the Bost skipper (3/42) and Abdul Baqi (3/44), concluding the match within 40 overs in the 2nd inning.
Darwish Rasooli, hitting 122 off 91 balls and scoring an incredible hundred in the first inning, was given the player of the match award.
Bost Region’s middle-order batter Mohammad Ishaq, who scored exactly 300 runs for his team during the event, was declared the Emerging Player of the Tournament.
Yamin Ahmadzai, Bost captain who picked 21 wickets, was declared the best bowler of the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional List-A Tournament 2023.
In addition, Bost’s middle-order batter Darwish Rasooli who scored 490 runs, was adjudged the best batsman of the tournament.
Amu skipper Abdul Malik, who made 407 runs and picked three wickets in the event, was adjudged the best player of the tournament.
