China accepts Bilal Karimi as Afghanistan ambassador

KABUL (Pajhwok): China has accepted Maulvi Asadullah Bilal Karimi as Afghanistan’s official ambassador after presenting his credentials to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Abdul Qahar Balkhi wrote on social media platform X that Bilal Karimi handed over his credentials to Hong Lei, the Director of Ceremonies at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.

Lei said in the ceremony that China respected Afghanistan’s national sovereignty and the decisions of the people of Afghanistan. He said China did not interfere in the internal affairs of Afghanistan and had not done so n the past.

He said China wanted to help Afghanistan execute economic and infrastructure projects under the One Road and One Belt initiative.

Lei assured he will present Karimi’s credentials to Chinese President Xi Jinping during a special ceremony.

Bilal Karimi said at the ceremony: “I am pleased to start my job as the official ambassador and representative of the Islamic Emirate in China.”

Karimi said relations between the two countries had reached a high level and important chapter and hoped these relations would be strengthened and expanded.

He assured the Chinese side that there was no threat to anyone from the territory of Afghanistan and stability and security in the region was in the interest of all.

Karimi mentioned China’s important role in the areas of investment, infrastructure revival, development projects and reconstruction in Afghanistan and described the current stability in Afghanistan a good opportunity to be availed.
