Kabul calls for immediate halt to killings in Gaza

KABUL (Pajhwok): Condemning Israeli attacks on northern and southern Gaza Strip, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has called for an immediate stop to the deadly strikes.

The health ministry in Gaza says the Israeli bombings had killed 67 Palestinians and wounded dozens more.

Al Aqsa TV channel quoted a high-ranking Hamas official as saying that Israeli forces’ ground operation in Rafah city had scuttled a planned exchange of prisoners between the warring parties.

The Florien Ministry said: “After four months of brutal attacks on northern and southern Gaza, Zionist forces have started targeting Rafah city, where over 1.5 million Palestinian children, women and men have taken shelter.”

Attacks by the Zionist regime on Rafah could trigger another catastrophe in the region and further deepen the crisis, the press statement added.

The IEA government vehemently denounced the “ongoing horror of the Zionists” and called for an immediate end to the assault.

It urged major international and regional actors, Islamic countries and human rights watchdogs to stop the ongoing genocide in Gaza and occupied Palestine and find a durable solution to the issue.

MoFA said the continuation of genocide in Gaza had raised serious questions about the global order and its values.

It warned the genocide of Palestinians would further weaken the credibility of international organisations and humanitarian conventions.

According to news reports, since October 7, over 28,000 Palestinian have been killed and more than 67,000 injured in Israeli attacks.

At the same time 2,000 Israelis have been killed and 5,000 others injured in Hamas attacks.
