Hundreds of nomadic families assisted in Helmand

LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Hundreds of families have been provided with animal feed and 120 farmers with improved quality wheat seed and chemical fertilizer in southern Helmand province.

Helmand deputy director for information and culture Maulvi Sher Mohammad Wahdat told Pajhwok almost 1000 nomadic families were given away animal feed in Nawa district.

He said 120 farmers in the district were provided with improved quality wheat seed and chemical fertilizer by the provincial Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Department.

Each farmer was given 50 kilograms of improved wheat seeds and 100 kilograms of white and black urea with financial support of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization.
