Goods worth 350m afs exported from Logar this year

PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Commercial goods worth 350 million afghanis were exported from central Logar province this year, showing a 15 percent increase over last year’s exports, an official said on Saturday.

Logar Commerce and Industry Director Shabir Ahmad Sediqi told Pajhwok Afghan News they exported goods worth 350 million afghanis to domestic and international markets during the past one year.

He said: “During the period, agricultural products such as dried and fresh fruits, potatoes, onions, tomatoes along with precious and semi-precious stones, food and non-food items were exported to domestic and international markets.”

He added the exports from Logar witnessed a 15 percent increase compared to last year’s.

He linked the increase in exports to addressing the problems of traders on time, improved security and creating facilities for traders and investors in the province.

Meanwhile, Shafiqullah, a trader from Logar, told Pajhwok that fresh and dry fruits exports had significantly increased compared to the past.

He said the government, especially the Department of Commerce and Industry, had created facilities for traders in obtaining license and paying tax.

On the other hand, farmers and gardeners of the province asked the government to find suitable market for their agricultural products.
