Work on Laghman cricket stadium being completed: ACB

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has initiated construction work on the remaining part of a cricket stadium in eastern Laghman province.

ACB wrote on its Facebook page a proper irrigation system had been established to resolve the water supply issue.

A comprehensive solar power system had also been installed at the stadium. After completion of the project, work on an academy would also be launched.

ACB said 20 acres of land had been allocated for the ground, where a pavilion and space for 2,000 spectators had been constructed by the Ministry of Urban Development.

ACB said it aimed to restart work on the remaining parts of the facility and prepare the ground for hosting domestic events.

Earlier, ACB spokesman Syed Naseem Sadat had told Pajhwok Afghan News construction work on a new cricket stadium would be launched in near future in central Logar province.
