KABUL (Pajhwok): An Indian diplomat and Afghan businesspeople have discussed Afghan-India trade, transit and problems regarding visa issuance for Afghan businessmen.
Joint Secretary (Pakistan-Afghanistan-Iran) of the Ministry of External Affairs, JP Singh met with a number of Afghan businesspeople in Kabul on Thursday, deputy spokesman for MoFA Zia Ahmad Takal said in a post on X.
The meeting underlined matters related to Afghan-India trade, transit and visa issuance for Afghan businessmen, Takal added.
Calling economic cooperation significant for the enhanced economy of the two countries, Afghan businessmen urged the Indian delegation to address the existing problems and facilitate the visa issuance process for Afghan businessmen.
JP Singh promised to pay serious attention to the issues of Afghan businessmen and to facilitate the visa issuance process. He also emphasised enhancing trade via Chabahar port.
In response to the problems being faced in trade via Chabahar port, Singh vowed to make serious efforts to resolve the issues.
