KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan and Uzbekistan have discussed reduction in transit duty on Afghan goods and solution to problems of traders of both countries.

Acting Minister of Commerce and Industry Nooruddin Azizi met visiting Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov at his office, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) wrote on its X handle.

They discussed problems of traders of both countries and reducing the transit tariff for Afghan businesspeople in Uzbekistan.

Both sides discussed expansion of investment and solution to problems of businesspeople in both countrie.

The ministry added both sides agreed to hold a meeting in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of northern Balkh province, on removing the existing barriers to trade and transit sector in near future.

Earlier, the Uzbek Minister of Foreign Affairs met with Prime Minister Mullah Hassan Akhund and other high-ranking officials of the caretaker government.
