1 killed, 3 wounded in clash over landownership

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): One individual has been killed and three others have been wounded as a result of a clash between two families over land ownership in eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Tuesday.

Police spokesman Abdul Basir Zabuli told Pajhwok Afghan News the clash took place between the families of Shah Wali and Multan in Ghoshta district on Monday night.

He said one man was killed and three others were injured in the incident. Security forces rushed to the scene and evacuated the injured to hospital.

One suspect had been arrested in connection with the firefight, the police spokesman added.

Rahmanullah, a resident of the area, said Shah Wali, 50, had been killed in the clash.

Earlier, eight people had been killed and injured in a clash between two families in the Dara-i-Noor district of the province.
