KABUL (Pajhwok): The Land Grab Prevention and Restitution Commission (LGPRC) has recovered 50 acres of usurped land in the Mirwais Township in Kabul, the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) said on Thursday.

In a statement, MoJ said the land of 8th police district of had been wrested back in compliance with orders from special court.

The statement said: “LGPRC officials studied the issue thoroughly in light of the Sharia Law and then referred the file to the Pastures and Dedicated Lands Special Court.

“The court later issued a decision saying 200 acres of the Mirwais Township land was privately owned on the basis of relevant documents and the rest belonged to the state.”

According to information from MoJ, LGPRC officials demarcated the area, where the state land was separated from private property.
