91 projects worth 164m afs executed in Daikundi last year

NEILI (Pajhwok): More than 90 development and public welfare projects have been executed at a cost of 164 million afghanis with financial support of partner institutions during the past one year in central Daikundi province, an official said on Tuesday.

Syed Noor Mosawi, rural rehabilitation and development director, told Pajhwok Afghan News the projects included construction of retaining walls, water supply networks, bridges, check dams and reconstruction of roads.

He said his department completed reconstruction projects and put them into service based on the needs of the people in the provincial capital and all districts of the province.

Meanwhile, some residents o said the previous government had paid no attention to infrastructure sector of the province and asked the Islamic Emirate to pay attention to this sector.

Akbar, an influential figure, told Pajhwok Afghan News Daikundi was a remote province and not a single project had been implemented in the past.

He acknowledged that the caretaker government carried out various projects in the past one year. He said the execution of these schemes resolved most problems of the people.

Concrete bridge, a major project, was constructed in Shahristan district with financial support of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
