Kabir asks media to work for national cohesion

KABUL (Pajhwok): Deputy prime minister for political affairs Maulvi Abdul Kabir has asked media organizations to work for promoting national cohesion and unity, saying extensive efforts had been made to sow disunity in the nation during the past two decades.

A press release from the Presidential Palace said Maulvi Abdul Kabir hosted a number of political analysts, including media officials and representatives, for an iftar dinner yesterday evening.

The deputy PM said negative propaganda against Afghans and the Islamic system was ongoing in various ways, asking the media to reflect the realities.

He believed the enemies of Afghanistan could not tolerate the current security and economic and political developments in the country, thus trying to change people’s mindset in a negative direction, but they would not succeed.

He added the Islamic Emirate welcomed supporting media and media activists and opinions and advice of political analysts in the light of national interests and Islamic rules.

He also stressed positive relations with the world and especially with neighbors and said Afghanistan did not want its relations deteriorate with any country and the world should respect the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Afghanistan.
