GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Construction work has been launched on two buildings for a school and a religious seminary in southern Ghazni province, an official said on Monday.

Education Director Maulvi Nasir Ahmad Hussaini told Pajhwok Afghan News that residents of Chahar Qala area in Maqor district had allocated land for Abu Huraira (Ra) seminary and Shahid Abdul Ghayous school.

He said the buildings would be constructed with financial support of the United Nations International children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF).

He added the buildings would cost seven million afghanis and would have administrative rooms, modern toilets, potable water system in addition to classrooms.

The structures would take five months to complete, Hussaini said and informed other developments projects would be carried out in other districts in near future.

Haji Mirza, a tribal elder of the area, told Pajhwok education was the only way to solve the existing problems in the society.

He said residents of the area had allocated land for a seminary and a school so that their children could get education.

Three days ago, residents of Rashidano district constructed and put into service a religious seminary at a cost of 150,000 US dollars.
