Mujahid underlines IEA’s strides towards stability

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) calls a flurry of visits by foreign delegations to Kabul as its acceptance, with some experts also viewing such trips as an achievement of the caretaker government.

Experts and political commentators suggest that practical steps should be taken within the country to address existing problems.

Zabihullah Mujahid, chief spokesman for IEA, wrote on his X handle that Kabul had witnessed the arrival of several foreign diplomats and special representatives recently.

He noted visits by delegations from the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, Russia, Malaysia, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, European Union and other diplomats, as well as the participation of Transportation Minister Hamdullah Akhundzada in an important meeting in Termez.

Mujahid said the headway in Afghanistan’s foreign relations underlined the broad acceptance of IEA and paved the way for interaction with the world.

He added these relations were expanding and becoming more effective with each passing day. Such efforts indicate the effectiveness of Afghanistan’s diplomatic initiatives.

According to him, these important visits and meetings will yield good economic results for Afghanistan.

He wrote some people thought that Afghanistan would be isolated, its economy would deteriorate, and relations with other countries would not be maintained.

Mujahid insisted Afghanistan was taking positive steps both politically and economically, and these efforts would be accelerated.

Political observer Mohammad Idrees Stanikzai told Pajhwok: “Of course, this is an achievement of IEA. Establishing relations with so many neighbouring countries in such a situation, accepting or sending political representatives is abroad is definitely an achievement.”

He called for the resolution of basic problems such as irregularities and disputes in the country because the government should not, rely on neighbours and foreigners.

Demands and needs of the Afghan people inside their country should also be taken into consideration so that all of them could guide Afghanistan towards development and prosperity, Stanikzai concluded.
