KABUL (Pajhwok): A passenger bus overturned in Pakistan’s Gilgit Baltistan region on Friday, killing at least 20 people and injuring as many more, rescue officials said.
Diamer district rescue officer Shaukat Riaz told Dawn.com that the bus was travelling from Rawalpindi to Gilgit when the driver lost control near Gunar Farm.
Subsequently, the bus with 43 passengers onboard overturned and landed near the banks of the Indus River, Riaz said.
The injured, including three women, have been shifted to Chilas Hospital. The number of injured was initially 35 but many succumbed to their injuries.
