Over 400 teachers appointed to Panjsher religious schools

PARAKH (Pajhwok): As many as 429 individuals, including 135 women, have been appointed as teachers to the religious schools — madrassa — of central Panjhsher province and 100 more would be appointed in the future, an official said on Wednesday.

Mawlavi Matiullah Jawad, head of the Education Department’s Islamic Education section, said the Ministry of Education has approved these posts for Panjsher province.

He said so far 429 individuals, including 135 women, had been appointed to religious schools in different areas of the province.

Mawlavi Matiullah termed the appointment of these teachers to the religious schools vital for the promotion of religious education.

He said 100 more teachers, including 15 women teachers, would be appointed in the future.

Rahmatullah, one of the newly appointed teachers at the Talem-ul-Quran Madrasa of Anaba district, hailed this step of the government and said: “Education is the foundation of a country and every positive step in this direction can take the country towards development.”

Moqadasa, another newly appointed teacher in the Piyawoshat village of Rakha district, said: “Rural schools have a positive role in remote villages because it is very useful for students who don’t have easy access to schools due to long distance. The only challenge for teachers and students of rural schools is the lack of a suitable place, we want the government to pay attention to this problem.”

According to the Panjsher Education Department, currently 44 government-run madrases of boys and girls are active in this province where thousands of students imparted education.
