MAIDAN SHAHR (Pajhwok): Two enmities among four families have ended in the Jaghato district of central Maidan Wardak province – thanks to efforts by local officials and elders.

In a statement, the governor house said one enmity had erupted in Moka village 26 years ago and the other surfaced 19 years back in Babar Babakhel village.

The first enmity had resulted in the killing of two individuals and the second had claimed one life. But all sides reconciled and ended their feuds.

Maulvi Bahram Hanafi, the district’s administrative chief, and a number of religious scholars called on the families to maintain brotherhood.

Speaking at a reconciliation gathering, they urged the families to live in a peaceful environment and forget their past bitterness.
