2 children rescued, 9 kidnappers detained in Faryab

MAIMANA (Pajhwo): Security forces rescued two children, son and nephew of a provincial police chief, and arrested nine kidnappers in northern Faryab province, an official said on Sunday.

The children aged 11 and 12 years had been kidnapped from Maimana city, the capital of Faryab province, on Saturday noon and they were rescued in the afternoon from the clutches of their abductors.

The children are the son and nephew of police commander of southern Ghazni province Makhdoom Mohammad Alam Rabani, who is the resident of Faryab province.

Abdul Matin Qani, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior (MoI), wrote on X that security forces arrested nine abductors who had kidnapped two children from the capital of Faryab.

He said the children were reunited with their families.
