GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): The construction work of five school buildings at the cost of 53 million afs in southern Ghazni province has started, an official said on Thursday.
Education director Maulvi Naseer Ahmad Hussaini told Pajhwok Afghan News that the buildings will be built in Andar and Giroo districts of the province.
Among the schools that will get new buildings include the schools of Khall, Shaheed Aminullah, Zigai, Nazar Walo and Mullah Mushk Alam schools.
According to Hussaini’s information the construction of these school’s buildings costs 53.5 million Afs which paid by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
Each of the school building would be built on around 2.5 or 4 acres of land and would get 12 classrooms, an administration office, surrounding wall, toilets, clean water spot and solar power equipment, Hussaini explained.
However the provincial director of YAAR construction company Sher Afzal Afzali said that the company had planned to build ten school buildings in Ghazni with the financial assistance of the UNICEF in different parts of the province during the current year.
Haji Barat, a resident of Khall area in Giroo district told Pajhwok that their school had no building and the students experienced various problems in this regard.
Barat confirmed that the construction works of their school building started and it would address most of the students regarding the building.
There are the total of 771 schools in Ghazni of which 250 of them still lack buildings and their students study under open sky.
