School in Logar’s Baraki Barak to get new building

PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Construction work on a school building has been launched in Barki Barak district of central Logar province, an official announced on Thursday.

Education Department spokesman Shahpour Arab told Afghan News the building was estimated to cost seven million afghanis and was being built with financial support of Japan and cooperation of the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF).

He said the structure will have six classrooms, an administration room, the boundary wall, a solar power system, a water supply network and other necessary facilities.

He added a proper education environment will be provided to students with the completion of the project.

On the other hand, Abdul Rahman, an inhabitant of Baraki Barak district, said the new building in Patkhab Roghani area will provide shlter to students currently attending classes in a rented house.

He abelieved many problems of the students will be addressed with the construction of the new building.

Earlier, UNICEF has constructed buildings for several schools in the province.
