Mask, protective garment factory opens in Kabul

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): A mask and coronavirus protection garment factory costing one million US dollars was inaugurated in Kabul on Tuesday.

Minister of Public Healthinfo-icon Ferozuddin Firoz, who inaugurated the factory, said now they needed one million meters protective clothing against coronavirus.

He said the factory would produce 300 to 500 meters of protective garment, the price of which in the worldinfo-icon has reached $ 60, but the factory would make for $5.

The minister said masks and protective kits were needed in market and the government would support anyone willing to invest.

The minister said people’s cooperation with the government in the fight against coronavirus was important and carelessness would create a storm.

With the outbreak of coronavirus, the price of masks and anti-phony products has increased several times and are rarely found in market.

On the other hand, owner of the factory, Allah Mohammad Kakar, said he had invested $ 1 million in the factory, which has about 1,700 employees, including 1,100 womeninfo-icon.

Kakar said the factory was capable of producing 50,000 medical and non-medical masks and 10,000 kits for doctors in a single day.
