KABUL): The transportation facility was provided to 10,000 families with the graveling of an eight-kilometre of road in the northern province of Jawzjan, officials said on Thursday.
Linking Yaka Bagh village with Jangal Bagh areas on the outskirts of Shiberghan, the road was paved at a cost of 18 million afghanis by the Ministry of Public Works with financial support from World Bank.
Deputy Governor Eng. Abdul Rahman Mahmudi told the inaugural ceremony for the project that residents of the villages would benefit from the road, their longstanding demand.
A resident of Eid Mahala village, Abdul Qadus Qati whose house was damaged during construction of the road, was happy with implementation of the project.
