KABUL): Six people, including two civilians, were wounded in a suicide attack on a district headquarters east of Kabul on Thursday, an official said.
The blast took place when police stopped a trucker who was trying to enter the Musahi district headquarters, a parliamentarian from the neighbourhood told Pajhwok Afghan News.
As a result of the explosion, two civilians and four policemen were wounded, Qais Hassan said, without giving further details.
But interior ministry officials said the blast wounded three policemen and a civilian.
Earlier, the district chief, Qazi Suleman, said the huge explosion took place near the district headquarters at about 8am.
Kabul police chief, Ayub Salangi, said it was a suicide attack.
A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, asserted responsibility for the blast, saying the truck was laden with explosives. He claimed a number of policemen were killed.
