KHOST CITY (PAN) detained 17 suspected militants in the Nadir Shah Kot district of southeastern Khost province, officials said on Thursday.
The arrests came during an operation, triggered by a Taliban-led troops in Shambawat area, the ISAF media office told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Nadir Shah Kot district chief, Hussain Jan Sherzai, said the foreign forces suffered no causalities in the attack. All the detainees are locals, Sherzai said.
A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, claimed 13 international soldiers were killed and several others wounded in the assault. Mujahid said the fighters suffered no causalities during the counterattack.
