SAMANGAN (PAN): More than 3,000 students would benefit from the inauguration of eight schools in northern Samangan province, an official said on Saturday.
The schools were built in Aibak and Roi Do Aab districts with financial support from World official told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Mohammad Omer Stanikzai said the schools would benefit 2,000 students in Roi Do Aab, said the district education officer, Sirajuddin Azam Yar.
Currently, 13,000 students are enrolled at 37 schools in this district. Only nine schools have proper buildings while the rest operate under tents.
“Previously, it was uncomfortable attending classes at a school without a proper building. But now we’ll enjoy learning in a suitable environment,” said Zubair, a seventh grade student from the Surkh village of Do Aab.
With the inauguration of the schools, students would be able to improve their focus on education, hoped Abdul Aziz Azizi, the education director. Work on seven other buildings was underway, he added.
