KABUL): A group of Pakistani parliamentarians is due in Kabul on Monday for a two-day dialogue on issues impacting the relationship between the neighbours, a media report said.
Eighteen members of Pakistan‘s National Assembly and Senate would meet their Afghan counterparts on how to improve bilateral ties, a leading Pakistani newspaper reported.
Counter-terrorism strategies of the two countries would be discussed at the meeting, facilitated by the Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT), Dawn said.
Since 2008, four joint workshops of Pakistani and Afghan legislators have already been facilitated by the civil society group to promote parliamentary interaction on bilateral and regional issues.
Deputy Chairman of Senate Mir Jan Muhammad Jamali and Deputy Speaker of National Assembly Faisal Karim Kundi are jointly leading the Pakistani delegation, according to Dawn.
The delegation includes Abdul Ghaffar Qureshi, Fauzia Fakhar-uz-Zaman, Najma Hameed, Mrs. Saeeda Iqbal, Afrasiab Khattak, Dr. Abdul Malik, Malik Ahmad Khan, Dr. Ayub Shaikh, Nadeem Afzal Gondal, Pervez Khan, Sardar Mehtab Khan Abbasi, Humayun Saifullah Khan and Awais Khan Leghari.
